Hi all, i have registered with this forum as it seemed that a lot of couriers with experience are here.

I'm looking for a while now, for a software for a courier and parcel company. Looking to automate delivery acceptance, sorting and delivery.

But i don't have much experience in it , so if anyone knows, how sorting and delivery works. Including barcodes, how they are generated and so on. please let me know, please share your experience..

Or if you know at least a software with descent trace and trace system implemented, also welcome to share one.


And, so that other post would not be created.. Just wondering if you are fully loaded, how many packages you can deliver per day? and how do you sort them , so that you would not spend thousands on fuel.

We want to start to offer nationwide parcel and post delivery and include services of UK and Ireland delivery (to and from) as we are based in Eastern Europe. And there is NO software in here that would suit us.


We are basically looking for track and trace (a must) but also it would be nice to have barcode scanning and automatic updates on the same system, as paper based work is a bit too much as far as i see. Was looking a lot for software like that, however could not find anything really suitable or easy to use for a SME. 

(Too make it short. Im looking for something that would let me print the label scan it and my client would automatically see it on the web that it was accepted (scanned) in the warehouse and the n the courier scans it when delivers again client can see that online (POD) , and have it all in easy to use way, so that none of the packages would be lost ) thats the main thing im looking for..

Our competitors have online application and label printing service , but im not really sure how this works.. (client pays online, makes order, and his barcode and label is generated for him automatically) if anyone knows what kind of system that is i would also appreciate if you would share your knowledge.

The thing with software is that even if you can find a package it's doubtful it will do exactly what you want.

All my software, including booking, tracking, pod's, invoicing etc I wrote myself but if that's not something you can do I would advise you to hire someone to write it for you.
