Shutl Launch

Excuse the pun, but it really has launched! Bristol and Swindon trials have been going on for a week and it's going well. Next is Sheffield and most of the North East, so I am looking for extra cover in these areas.

For those who are unaware, Shutl is a retail sameday concept, whereby you would pick an item up from Argos or other high street name and deliver it within 90 mins. Jobs range from 2 miles to 20 miles and i am paying the following rates:

• Collection Fee £4 small van / £8 Large van
• Delivery Fee £0.75 pm small van / £1.00 pm large van

I am trying to gauge what interest there would be if I were to advertise these jobs here on mtvan, so if you are in Sheffield or the North East, please reply here or PM me.

You can't be serious, most people on here have a mortgage, kids, like a few holidays per year, then have to run a van and pay insurances, please tell me and be honest how is this going to pay for what I have just mentioned, it really seems very amateurish and insulting and in my opinion should not be allowed to be viewed on here, sorry but this is going backwards, you might be proud but the poor soul going home tot tell his wife I have earned £40 for a days won't.

I forgot to add that on quite a few occasions so far, there have been 2 deliveries to pick up from Argos at the same time. Also, our members have been using it as a 'filler' while waiting for other jobs to come in - feedback so far is positive :-)

I have information from a reliable sauce that Argos are looking to take on their own drivers and vehicles. For sameday store transfers, and local deliveries within 60 - 90 minutes, this will immediately put an end to Shutl in my area.

Interesting information! There are about 10 retailers on board with shutl which are big names, so fortunately it's not all about argos. However, thanks for the tip off.

Try a local Taxi, they are used to doing jobs for less than a Tenner!
