Global specialised services?

Warning to other courier companies/owner drivers, this company has now gone into liquidation but have opened up as another name their address is global specialised services, the freight centre, unit 3 trident business park, glass avenue, ocean way, cardiff, cf245en. Just managed to get hold of them on the phone and was told that any jobs that were done before august will not be getting paid but if the jobs were done in august then thats when the company changed their name and those invoices will be paid. We did work for them in june/july so will not be getting any money thats owed from them, the annoying thing is at the time of them giving us the work they must of known about this issue but still carried on giving out the work.

We had a customer who did the same, £2000 we were stung for and the reopened with a different name, same directors. We were even tasked by the liquidation company to collect and move files from the said company. We could have collected and kept the files but unfortunately it was for the Liquidator and not the company. It would have been wrong and unprofessional. Karma will come around.

Unfortunately karma doesnt pay the bills, know were you coming from though, as if times arent hard enough at the mo with rising running costs etc. When companies go bust the transport bills are the very last to get paid if theres any money left in pot, its all wrong! Seriously p@@@es me off

With ours, Company assets £550,000 company debts £650,000 Liquidation and Legal costs which were paid first were £23,000 This included disbursments down to how many photocopies they used, The Liquidation companies mileage charges and overnight stays in hotels whilst dealing with the Liquidation.

I find it appalling that a company can go into liquidation, change it's name and start all over again and probably in 12 -18 mths do the same again but ripping more honest people off. Surely there must be some legislation somewhere for this scenario. The people who were in charge should be banned from the business.
