I think it would be better if it showed

+4/-2

In green and red, rather than just the total.

This makes it more obvious that the vendor/supplier is good, as currently someone with +4/-2 will just appear as a '2' which gives a false impression.

This information should then also appear on the job view page, so someone looking to quote on work, immediately knows it's a good vendor.

It would be better if feedback were optional. The system harasses you until you give feedback, you can't opt out of it and there's no 'undecided'. I believe many would give positive feedback rather than stick their heads above the parapet. So in your example, I'd suggest that is a bad vendor/supplier on the basis that it takes a deliberate decision to award negative, whereas positive is often just going along with the flow. Then the system could indicate positive, negative and no comment out of total jobs posted.

This is very difficult. What one vendor would be happy with, might not best please another.

Whilst recruting many technicians whilst at BT, candidates that were suitably qualified and came over best during an hours interview, sometimes turned out to be absolutely useless.

Word of mouth I think is the best, and the grapevine has certainly provided us with some excellent subbies, it has also stopped me ever thinking about using some!

I totally agree with that. We used to get new members of staff who would list 40 odd qualifications on their CV, talk the talk but could not deliver to the type of kids we worked with. It got to the point where my manager and HR would have one of us sitting in on the job interview to ask relevant questions and gauge their suitability.
