Hi guys,

I'm about to start work as a self employed courier.

And almost ready to go to print with my brochure and but need to be sure I have not missed any vital info that courier companies will need from me.

It's a small print run of 150 copies but still want to try and get it right.

Here is the link to the brochure: dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/78104813/PDN8ppBrochure.pdf

Can you advise on any vital info that couriers need that has been missed.

Looking forward to guidance from experienced members :)

Nilesh - are you distributing these to other courier companies? Or are you giving these out to potential customers / end users? If the latter - then maybe get rid of the term - subbie

They will be hand delivered to courier companies only with a view to getting sub contract work.

Look at taking the word subbie off the your title it looks as if you are willing to do only sub work, It would look better for when you do a leaflet drop

I will printing a different leaflet for end users further down the road. This brochure is for courier companies only.

I used to the work 'Subbie' to specifically appeal to courier companies. Was that a mistake?

Dont waste money on two different leaflets just do the one post to courier companies & potential customers / end users

As others have mentioned, take out the 'subbie' even if you are only targeting other courier co's to start off with. Other than that, looks great.

Or chance it to sub-contractor. Vernacular words have no place in advertising literature.

It looks/sounds unprofessional.

I Wouldn't offer a 100% Satisfaction guarantee with the promise of no charge. We all aim to satisfy 100% but all it takes is a major hold up on the motorway, Delay at collection and the delivery deadline isn't met. Even with constant updates to the customer they can say i am not satisfied and then want the delivery for free. This will most likely happen when you have undertaken a delivery to Aberdeen, Are you prepared to foot the fuel cost knowing you aren't even going to cover your fuel.

There is always someone out there that will try it on and get it done for free

I wouldn't have the word subbie on there, as you could be open to courier companies offering silly low rate prices

Drop Subbie and leave everything else as it is. If you're happy giving a 100% guarantee promise, then stick with it. Everyone tries to have a USP which in this game isn't easy, and you sound pretty confident so don't be put off.

Take out Subbie and if you go with the 100% guarantee then make sure your T&C's are water tight.

Well, the removal of the word 'Subbie' is unanimous so that will be replaced with 'Sub-Contractor'.

I will still keep the guarantee but will look at how I can cover myself against being ripped off. Possibly have a charge to cover the fuel used as a minimum.

I will need to think more on that point.

I would save your money and just type a neat cover letter the odds are the brouchures will end up in the bin. Id save them untill you do go for your own customers. Or better still actually go ad see them face to face. It will most likely be mote productive and you may get a start there and then

You are right about seeing them face to face.

The idea is to approach courier companies in the West Midlands directly and hand them the brochure along with my business card. It's almost an excuse to speak to them so I get a feel of how busy they are and which towns are more likely going to be my collection areas.

And, as you pointed out, I may even get a job in the process. :)

Your question "how quickly can you collect my parcel" need to be re-worded

I still think brochure is a waste of money for other courier companies id just take your docs and a card with you
