It's that rip off time of the year. Just got a renewal quote for my van insurance. Last year it was around £1100, from AXA, through [business]. They've quoted £1500 for this year!! (Not had any claims and no points on my licence)

Can anyone recommend an insurance company that can can give me a sensible quote, please??

Try [business], [location] on [phone]. Ask for [name] as he deals with Courier Insurance packages.

As a recent "newby", I found them very competitive with quotes I had been getting and there was no mileage limit on the policy.

Worth a try.

Quite a hike [name] bur i think you'll find that £1500 ain't too bad once you start ringing round

Just thought I'd try the insurance co advertising on here (Construct a Quote) assuming that someone on mtvan had checked em out and so saving us time and money but no.

Quoted £4700.

Not only that but within 60 secs i get a call from them asking if they can help.

I informed them that as the quote was so outlandishly high andif I'd wanted a call i would have rang them, that's why i used the online quote instead, that no i didn't want to talk to them.

Come on mtvan, if you're going to let ads on here then lets make em one's that have been checked out, that way you can recommend them to us all.

RGM I think thats quite a competative quote, I have am with giles and just forked out 1700.00 for a transit LWB refigerated van - cheapest we could find. Camvan dont hold your breath expecting a big decrease in your insurance when you reach 25, im sure most companies that will quote for a courier just think of a number then double it anyway. I have never had insurance decrease in 22 years, Had 1 major (out of 27 vehicles - touch wood) accident in all those years so its not me putting the rates up!!! ncd doesnt seem to mean anything these days. Come to think of it, who is putting our rates up - do we still have the reputation of the "white van man" and that we are all maniacs when we get behind the wheel.

Quoted £4700.

You assumed that we had already got a quote for you and checked that it's less than what you pay now? Obviously they're going to quote differently depending on your circumstances and their prices will be more favorable for some than others.

They provide genuine/real/legal insurance, so don't see what the issue is. We don't allow anyone non-legit to advertise here.
