Think you're bein clever?

There are those that take great delight in dissing others, behind supposed faceless online, "safe" places, happy that what they say, although maybe meant in jest, or maybe deliberately going a bit deeper than that, will be said without repercussions....

They think they're being clever, that we can't see that, far from trying to make a point, all they're actually trying to do is get a reaction....and generally speaking not a very positive one!!!

Well who knows wot motive lies behind a comment, whether it is said sober, whether after a few beers on a friday night, or after an argument with the Mrs, or cos they're just having a bad day...

Whatever the reason, few consider the person at the other end of said comments. Why?....mostly due to ignorance, arrogance, or just because they're not very nice people....and don't care

I don't get it to be honest. If i have nothing to contribute I generally remain silent....

I think some should remember that this forum is open to anyone....members and non members alike, and anyone can see what you're writing...yes, even your own customers!!

If I was a customer of some of the contributors on here, then I would be looking for a new supplier

I often think that about some of the threads on CX because there's some awful serious bitching goes on there at times. Luckily, that's a members only view so end user customers can't see it (I hope). Mind you, it does make for some entertaining reading over breakfast sometimes and is often far better than the dross in the papers.

Yes it can get quite a bit iffy on there. I tend to keep off that forum for that very reason, plus no one seems to have much to say anyway. This forum is generally a pretty friendly, helpful place to be, but there's always the odd smartarse and those that argue black is white cos they like the sound of their own voices. Funny but those same contributors never seem to have anything positive to contribute do they? and i think they forget anyone can read this forum

It puts off some wanting to ask questions cos they ram them straight back down their throat.

It ain't clever, i find it rather sad

I find that some people find it difficult to see both sides of the coin . This is not an easy game to be in and I myself am dead against the encouragement that people get to join this industry !

Many of the critism are not again Rob and his backload boy on his way home .Many of these newbies are actully using that backload load as their daily run !!!!

My challlenge is to put food on the table or even make a profit . The word courier expalins clearly what it means in the dictionary as is often pointed out on here !!!....Well forget that !!! Your business has vehicles or vehicle as its asset it is your job to utilise this hardware to make your business money .You can sit at your desk all day long and say Im not doing this and Im not doing that because Im a courier a one drop Harry ..Well forget as well! This industry is what it is and it changes and evolves ,Customer driven demand changes fast . We need to react to these market variations to stay a float .I have seen sameday courier work drop off rapidly over the past 15 years and Im not talking on here to wind people up or sound big . People I am geniunly worried . I have contstantly change my fleet over the years the way we do things and the approach we have . I was critised for sugesting that newbies should have a go at multidropping it is not as lucrative now as it was 15 years ago in fact its crap but its better than going bust . Another example we never wanted to do multidrop we made good money in the beginning but now we have puled out of the rounds and just do adhoc cover . We have now gone on to night runs and Euro furniture deliveries ,never wanted to do that but we have to go where the money is . I see these new people in their small vans looking for work and I panic for them because I look out of our portacabin and see our Berlingo not doing too much most of the time . In 1995 I had 4 small vans on contract to a couple of companies its not that somebody ese is doing the work ,that work just does not exist anymore !!!

A See exxx company as you always say !!! went down last year in Wakefield the guys I do a bit for went after their work only to discover they never actully had any work!!!!

So if are confused Rob about some minor scirmishes on here dont take it too heart because we love you but you need to understand that experienced people clashing with newbie over enthusiasm that have been presuaded that there is more work than there really is ,is in fact a disaster waiting to happen

One of the reasons that we think being an open forum is really worthwhile, it should hopefully naturally moderate people and mean we have to less deleting and banning.
