something to lighten things up, what were you before becoming a courier and what made you change?

I was an IT manager for a national mother and baby retailer (not mothercare) who made me redundant. while I was unemployed I covered some hermese rounds to make ends meet when an inheritance came along i bought a fastway franchise then when that was pulled from under me I went solo

Spent most of my time in and around the motorcycle trade,

motorcycle city farnborough selling crash helmits etc when I was 16,

did a city and guilds in motorcycle engineering,

worked at Coombes of Guildford BMW dealer,

then worked at various dealers ending up as a shop manger/mot tester etc

doing odd bits of courier workon a Z550  to due make ends meet in the winter,

started fitting motorcycle alarms after a year working for SOS recovery (24 hour call 6 days a week, day off from 7am tuesday to 7am wednesday)   again started doing odd bits courier work for city sprint basingstoke,

Moved to somerset started a motorcycle workshop when the alarms went quiet and it was a spectacular disaster ( got fed up with the "I've seen this on Ebay can you match the price brigade"!)  so had to do a Dawson news run and a full time job to survive and keep my house!!

now full time courier and play with the odd website etc

well that's me

Boom boom! You know what?, I can honestly say that's the first time I've heard that! It was actually Five Ashes but you're more likely to know where Uckfield is. As for my entire CV, there are probably two or three I've forgotten about and I've probably been sacked from more than I left voluntarily. That's the problem with doing the job you think it should be done, rather than the way the company does. Another reason to be my own boss.

By the way, that bit I'd rather not talk about led me to appearing on TV (The Pier, Southern TV) in The Tempest and also meeting a Guardian crossword compiler, whose advice led to me becoming resident crossword compiler the Kent Messenger Group, which I was for six years until I tired of their deadlines and cock ups! In my spare time (sadly, loads of it lately!) I compile crosswords for the Financial Times.

Lots of interesting careers so far,

Mine well started my working life off as a Chef, Lots of different places and eventually moved into Bar management, had several pubs before, i decided for the first time to become self employed as a Handyman. This was great doing everything from painting pubs, fixing beer skids etc and a bit of garden work too.
This then lead somehow to a spell working on the dray delivering beer around the Norwich area great job great bunch of lads but was only a short term contract, at the end of this i had broke up with the ex and decided to get away from Norwich for a bit and came to sunny Worcester.
11 years later im still here lol where i have done a spell as a skip driver, this is where i got my HGV i Then moved onto Pickfords again many good and bad times driving around the UK and Europe, it was one of those jobs where you get to see some interesting sights.

and that all lead to where i am know self employed again talking to you lot :)
