Some are not happy with this forum being open to all and sundry.

At the moment anyone can read this, even your customers.

I have suggested we have several different forums rather like CX has but i also think we should have something akin to facebook, where what you write is either open to everyone, friends, friends of friends and so on.

There are some threads on here that should be for in-house debate only and therefore not open for Joe Blogs to read.

I am at a loss here, who do you class as Jo Bloggs? I thought all and sundry were couriers of some sort on here, surely you are not saying you have stuff to hide?

This forum would appear on internet searches and is accessible without logging in. It's not about what you have to hide, its about if someone searches for you. There is a possibility they may see your posts from here.

I was under the impression that you had to log in on here therefore it was not open to 'Jo Bloggs', it would seem I stand corrected.

Yes Sir, this forum is open to anyone. No login in required. Log out and you'll see for yourself.

All readable by anyone. It has been mentioned before and admin have responded before. Just think some stuff is industry sensitive so should perhaps remain within a members only area.

In that case then I agree with you.

Our main aim for this forum to become an even more useful resource for anyone wishing to find answers to or discuss things relating to the courier industry. This forum is not intended for things that should be 'in house'.

Being open means people looking for more information about 'courier rates' (for example) have some chance of finding the information that is available on here through Google. Also we feel that being open enforces some amount of self-moderation on what people say on here. I'm sure being open will not moderate the giving of good sound advice!

We do not rule out the possibility of a 'members only' area in the future however.

Incidentally, the majority of other forums (that I know some of our members also use) are also open.
