Yet again i have been trying to look for a courier to cover a good job for tomorrow.
One courier signed up in 2006 And has not updated any details whatsoever or added anything about themselves their vehicles of insurances.

Understand where your coming from, since we have posted the odd job here and there, not one of them have been covered by members of this site, or resulted in being covered from members.

We contract out minimum 25 jobs a day and need quick turn around in ALL of them.

My personal opinion is that for the non time sensitive freight this method MAY work, but for those gtm's that are urgent and require a van to be on its way asap, in my honest opinion, this doesn't work.

I may be wrong, but thats yet to be proven from our experience on here so far.

25 per week minimum, not per day **

I have done 3 jobs from here in about 5 weeks, i do look quite often but there is never anything in my area!! I always post empty if i am but have never had a company contact me for a job because they have seen that i am empty.

I also post on the news feed that i am clearing in London for example but never get a backload/load from this site!!

I am really trying to get work from here but if its not in the area then i cant do it.

To me some users on this site are more visable and that's the way to get noticed and this leads to good networking.
There are also a huge amount of dead members on here who have signed up, not uploaded any details and have never posted anything. They need to be culled as it wastes our time and money.

would it be possible admin to have a section on the dashboard for empty vehicles so that poster could check to see if there is any in the area that requires work covering

N&D C: A few weeks ago we cleared off anyone who we had not seen within the last 2 months.

PW Courier Services: There's an empty section on the courier directory page.

HSP: You've only been a member for just over 2 weeks. You do not have a description on your profile. I'd expect people to be a little wary of you for the time being. I generally see vendors building up a dozen or so regulars who regularly reply to their work postings, plus the odd extra one here and then (who adds to the regulars). Couriers are cautious to quote for someone they do not know.

member 461 does not seem to be active.

I agree he doesn't look very active, pro membership till 30/08/2012 though.

I think the answer is to filter the results of the directory to only those seen in the last month or 2 weeks or so, what do you think?

yes admin, there is that there, but it's hidden away it would be better in-between Courier work & post Empty on the dashboard line so that everybody could see it at glance.

For what it's worth, HSP have one of the best reputations on CX so no-one on here need be wary about them at all. I just wish he lived somewhere near me instead of in God forsaken Northamptonshire.

I to can vouch for hsp you'll never come across a more of decent company to cover work for & to receive a fast turn around on your invoice from h, so i'd say he's def one of the good guys on here & cx the problem just happens to be no one seem to want to bid or call for job's on here & some of the companies that do post jobs in here there's no way of telling whether there jobs worth covering as there's no payment feed back or payments terms, atleast on the cx you can go way back to 360 days to check a companies payment or delivery feed back which gives you the choice whether you'd want to cover there job's or not.

Maybe that's a good pointer for admin.

I would seriously look at introducing a payment history element to the site.

Possibly a feedback comment section would be good as well.

There is feedback with comments. Good point about making payment terms more visible, I'll bear that in mind. I wasn't questioning HSP's genuineness, just commenting that a new comer or someone who doesn't know him from CX wouldn't know. I suggest you guys all 'trust' him on the member directory!

Oh and I think the courier has the option of leaving a rating for payment. I'll double check.

I think one problem is that the feedback section is  more of a side line on this site, I think a more prominent position  would be better and possibly more of a selling point for the site.

Yes I do agree. The reason I can give for its current positioning on the site is that it was only released a few months back so until recently was pretty empty. Will give it more prominence in future :)

Has anyone ever noticed us?!  We have posted a few empties and do look/occasionally quote for work one here, but there never seems to be anything available.

I have just posted a (near) empty Luton travelling from Bradford to Birmingham this afternoon, so feel free to call me on 07779 631433 if you have any loads that may be suitable.

One thing that could be improved on the site is the way jobs are listed.  For a start, they don't seem to list in date order??  And the default setting of the past 2 weeks seems to be an awfully long time, I can't imagine many jobs posted 2 weeks ago are still available but if they are, the sellers should simply relist them.  I'd prefer to change the date search to 'today only' or 'next 3 days' etc with the click of a button, rather than the current cumbersome system of having to enter the full date every time to filter out the old stuff that has long since gone.
