I recently went to pick up a parcel at bham airport world cargo site. As well as taking all my details including the photocopying of my passport ,they insisted that i gave my fingerprints before releasing the package. Is this legal? I certainly felt like a criminal .Has anyone else experienced this extreme level of security?

for your information the package contained .......... samples for a company that produces sausage casings !!

I guess it is... I maybe have been given incorrect info, but I think customs can decide to strip your vehicle down to component parts as you come off the ferry? Seems worse than fingerprints!
