Hi Peeps. This is just a thought. Do you think it's a good idea to have your prices viewable on your website. I have been looking at other courier website around my area thought I would ask your opinions on it.

Hmmm, would that be your one off prices or the ones that you charge your regular account repeat business customers? There could be a case for it but how do you put a price on the customer service aspect.

Who's site have you been looking at and how would you rate them from within the industry?

I've looked at number of websites in my area. Most don't have the prices showing but I have found quite a lot do. I was showing mine at some point, but after thinking about it, it can be off putting for some, especially thos who don't really get what sameday is all about

Hi when I was doing me research before coming into the business I found a lot of companies don't show prices, you have to e mail or call them. I think yours [name] was one of the few which do show your rates.

You say its "offputting for those that don't really get what sameday is about" but the alternative is you get a wasted call instead, so I can't see the problem unless your powers of persuasion are that good, in which case best you come and work for us!

We have an online quoting facility, but it is more expensive than having an account so we have undoubtedly missed some jobs that we perhaps could've "negotiated" over the phone.

Its all about whether you have the time and inclination to take all the calls you'd get without having prices on your website, as well as it being there for your competitors to be able to undercut you.

There is no right or wrong, but nowadays more and more of us expect to "shop" without actually talking to anyone, so if they can't see a rate, or have the facility to work it out for themselves, they may just move on to your competitor anyway

I have a nearby courier offering urgent runs into London at an uneconomical cost if they were'nt doubled up, your guess is as good as mine
