On Sunday another member was signed up. On Friday that new member posted a job. A text alert was posted and i received the alert. However i had never heard of the company before so even though i was in the area of the job, i declined to quote.

On my return i checked out said company and see they have had a couple of posts on the forum ,they have no G.I.T (surprise surprise) and reputation of just 23.This new member was just one of a couple of "newbies" who posted work.

If this was eBay and i was looking to sell i would need to provide bank account details inc my current debit/credit card and i would only be able to sell a certain number of goods per month until i had achieved a trading history.

Why does this site allow random people to post without taking basic security steps to protect owner drivers who take on these jobs? Without going on my soapbox again.. This is exactly what happened with the AET scam and although i am happy to receive text alerts and ultimately quote for a job i now use the old adage " once bitten twice shy"

And why am i as a non pro member allowed to post a job in the first place? Surely that should only be available as a pro member? Otherwise whats the point to being a pro member?

I said exactly the same thing thing last week on another thread but was advised it was not possible due to time and keeping costs down. You cannot have it both ways, either invest some more time and money by giving basic training and some kind of checks on new members or the site will NOT move on. I also said that there are lots on here myself included if i can be of any help then i would do my best. We all learn everyday but you need to be confident in using the site and i for one am not confident.

Rob, being a Pro -member allows you to contact the non-pro-member who is advertising the job

Today at 11-30 Rapid furniture joined the site... 12-30 they posted a job B45 to Ip .

Very little info about who he/they are and yet was able to post a job for any one to quote on! How and why are people allowed to join and post jobs immediately? Admin do you not remember AET?

As a matter of interest did any one take this job?
