Why do you waste peoples time putting jobs on here which were already filled on Courier Exchange do you do it just to use this system? A certain member on here is taking the piss!

5839I can't see why anyone would do such a thing. Most people/businesses really would like to avoid double typing everything.

I'm interested to know who it is, but I think I have a good idea if i'm honest

1701Double typing everything? Er Copy and paste?
Thorpe & Sons
5507This has been going on for quite some time now, this is one of the reasons why I don't quote on courier experts work anymore. Whats the point when it only ends up on Courier Exchange looking for the cheapest price. I gave that up a long time ago
Martin Logistics
1018I'm sure it's the other way round - jobs get posted here and then put on Courier Exchange by a third party.

Not this time was sold before posted on here!

Not sure that really saves much effort. Especially when it’s for individual fields, and it’s unlikely that due to formatting you could just copy and paste dates etc...

2148Well you can’t have it both ways! You either want work on here or you don’t, I have posted work on here and Courier Exchange at the same time spread the net a little, So far majority of work has gone to Courier Exchange members who phone within 5 mins with appropiate price and delivery/collection time scales, the last quote I had from an MTV driver was expensive and 3 days after the job was delivered! snooze you lose!
Turner Logistics
4759I agree with springer last couple of jobs I have posted, have taken hours if not days to get response.

5507I myself do struggle to get work covered on here, it’s no calls/quotes or well overpriced. Don’t get me wrong, i’m all for fair rate but when people want to charge end user rates, it does tend to get beyond the joke
Harding Direct
2148Seems a little daft to spend time and money setting up a site to send job alerts out to drivers who can't bid on the work, but theres not enough work being posted to justify the expense of Pro membership. there must be a better way of doing it.

538Hello! I'm here, just a phone call away, SWB Transit based in South Wales, reasonable rates, 85p small van work and 95pplm SWB Transit work, there I've advertised my rates, I know it's not the done thing but there you go. I've gone PRO on here and just signed up to Courier Exchange. Lets se what happens...
Hopkins Direct
1701Yep similar to me, and not a call... Lol... Have quoted on plenty tho.

2250Do you get much work [name] @ 85p? Maybe I should try it if you do.

5670Well I see nothing has changed, still acting like school kids mine is bigger than yours. Although I agree that if you post a job on two or more sites then when it is gone it should be removed from all the sites then you would not get the problem of bids hours or days after the job has been done, as for rates is that not up to the person doing the job as to what they charge, you do not have to take it let alone bitch about it because you do not like it or in most cases you can not make 90% on the job for just answering a phone call.

2250Hello! I'm here, just a phone call away, SWB Transit based in South Wales, reasonable rates, 85p small van work Good luck trying to get that rate on Courier Exchange [name].
Lewis Haulage
2250There are some jobs posted on here I would like to bid on but cant as no longer a pro.
Davis & Sons
538Not at that rate, I have a couple of contacts outside Courier Exchange who do pay it but I do try and bid on SWB work as much as I can but can't hit that rate either.
Abbott Couriers
796LWB work goes on Courier Exchange for less than £1plm, the only thing you can do if you are using the Exchange is minimise your dead miles otherwise you'll be driving a long way for nothing. On the other hand if you pick and choose you can still make money but you need to be loaded 2/3rds of the time. Not easy, not very satisfying but possible.

You are correct i don't know why i waste MY time and i certainly wont going forward unless needs must and trust me i will be very very careful. I gave a job to a subbie on here then 2 months later get a call chasing payment, I explained we had not received an invoice. Answer - HOW DO I DO THAT?! I kept my cool and advised to raise an invoice and send it to me with the POD. Answer - On headed paper?!
Now i know we all have to start somewhere but this is ridiculous. If you cannot raise an invoice then you should not be running a business and anyone who struggles with this fundamental task please do NOT ring, quote, bid or whatever you want to call it for any of my jobs.

5507I see some things don't change lol
Davis & Sons
538So do I lower my rates to just above what I get from City Sprint? At least they pay at the end of the following week and you don't have to worry about invoicing either. It seems the whole industry is being dragged down to abysmal rates.
Long Services
10314Sorry to sound harsh but if you work for citysprint you're helping cause it

749My Pro membership on here is about to end... Should I renew or Signup on Courier Exchange or both? I have bid on many jobs - Mainly Courier Expert as the vendor and have successfully done them for between £0.85 and £0.99 per loaded mile which I did not think was too bad , But I am fairly new to the industry.. The only issue I have is that I am based in Bedford and all jobs seem to be miles away from my base. I also find getting back loads to be unsuccessful. :-)
Long Services
10314Why are you finding getting getting return loads unsuccessful?
Is it because you can't find any, or your quotes are not being accepted?
If it's the former, then maybe you need to join another site as well, if its the latter then it's either that you quoted too late, you were too far away, or your price was too high.
Evans Services
749I cannot seem to find any. Can you tell what the best site to register on or is that unethical?
Long Services
10314Plenty of opinions on which one is best... Pvt message me and you'll get my opinion. As you're in a transit your rates aren't the reason thats for sure, and Bedford isn't exactly the arse end of nowhere so hard to fathom really.
Lewis Haulage
2250Be gentle [name]. Bedfords not a bad place for work, I seem to get summat fairly quick when am round there.
Abbott Couriers
796Bedford may not be the arse end of nowhere but you can see it from there.
Lewis Haulage
2250Wheres that [name]
Abbott Couriers
796Its just round the back.
Long Services
10314I didn't say Bedford was a bad place for work, far from it. A good base i'd say, hence me saying i can't fathom why he can't get the work
