If I cover a job, that job is then cancelled 90 mins b4 the due collection time, as a driver would you expect to be paid?

You may well have turned down other work to do the pre-booked, but if its cancelled 90 mins b4 surely you are then available for any other work that may crop up?

I wouldn't be looking to pay the driver, I would however put the driver on the next available job.

These things don't happen too often so the driver should really accept that you as the company are not going to get paid and can ill afford to be at a loss.

I work on the theory that if I was in the van on the way then a fee is required,
if not then just put it down to experience!!
90 mins is a lifetime in this game!!
