There's an item about vans on watchdog BBC1 at 8pm tonight, might be worth watching. They advertised it last week as Renaults Vauxhalls and a couple of others costing owners money. Might be worth a watch. Can't believe I'm advertising for that wicked witch of the west Anne Robinson.

a summery... Theres a rubber seal inside the bonnet of these vans that if not a solid fit will allow rain water washing down the screen to entre the engine bay. As luck would have it it drips into onto the injectors and due to design theres an almost bath effect to collect water and contain it . When your injectors turn to crap you simply cant get them out as they are rusted in , Vaux and nissan didnt want to know and people are looking at bills of 5-6 grand ! Happens on 06-09 vans plus pre 2014 if damaged ummmm me id be inclined to dremel out a corner to allow the water to wash away if i owned 1 now on the just in case scenario. Apparently garages have sussed this design fault and someones out fixing them at a grand a time, not bad for a days work. Wonder what the price of a new head is? Bet it can be done with a new head and injectors for less than a grand

injectors alone are £1200... And they don't always seize in. If you are lucky they all come out but normally only one end gets stuck and I cant remember which end not that its important. But AE is correct with summary.

Well worth a wash in wd40 and then allow to run then a bath of wd40 overnight before trying to extract them i recon( bit of expansion heat for the oil ). eBay is coming up with 170 for each injector so a proper wallet opener. Its all news to me, i thought vitos were a tough one with there injector issues. Its a shame as i quite fancy one as a run around as there are plenty of auto`s out there ( so the mrs can drive it ) so now its back to several million quid for a vw T5 instead

Like anything in life, if you put the best quality in Diesel, engine oil even change your geabox oil once a year a vehicle should look after you, fill up with bizz diesel or poor oil and it won't ask Alan RTL

If the van is running all day - every day then any water will evaporate and not get chance to sieze the injectors. It is those with low usage which suffer most.

Im having that problem with my vivaro, seized 2nd injector, my friend who is a mechanic has tried everything possible to get it out without having to do a full job that would include the head etc, so rang Vauxhall on Friday, taking it in this week where i have to pay £60 for them to tell me what i already no is wrong with it and they send a report off and hopefully will be repaired at 100% goodwill

My van is serviced every 10,000miles, filled up with bp fuel not supermarket, and did a lot of mileage every week so not having your theory on why an injector will seize
