UPS have bought TNT Express for £6.77 Billion.

Hopefully they'll put their prices up and encourage people you use sameday couriers a little bit more.

The combined company will pass DHL in size. As UPS grows, consumers and businesses will likely pay more to ship packages because there will be less competition around the globe.

All good news for us i think.

Ups attempted to buy out TNT a few yrs ago & TNT held on to there fort looks like the ever growing competion out there has made it harder for TNT to compete against & forced them in to a sell out to ups.

The transfer over is gonna be Intresting with loads of parcels going missing forcing the customers to use Sameday knowing that there goods shall arrive safely, but for ups could not have times it better in time for the Olympics being the main logistical partner of the 2012 Olympic games in London.

Well in a slowing economy the easiest way to get growth is to buy it.

Acquasitions give you a load more customers, but you don't then need 2 of everything, so redundancies follow...but if i had a spare £4.5 billion i'm sure i could make a lot more use of it than that!!!!!

That's true always after a takeover they shed staff soon after,

Some even tell fibs as well.

When craft bought Cadbury's the promised everything will remain the same.

A year later they started to close plants and move production to europe,.

I always avoid cadburys goods and especially fair trade goods,
