We hear every day about companies making redundant, 100 people here, 1000 people (BAE Systems) there, but football clubs are suffering too, just look at the situation at Rangers!

Now, I'm not a Rangers fan, but I know what a history the club has and it's a shame that they have ended up in the bind that they are in. Every minute of every day they are closer to liquidation. Today they will make 11 of the first team squad redundant and the remaining players will have wage cuts, probably in half. The manager will also demand that his wage bill is slashed in a bid to help save the club.

Unfortunately, as many seem to think, the only thing that would save Rangers, is a buy-out. At this time, that seems about as likely as them winning the SPL this season, pretty much nil. Which means almost definite liquidation for a club that has a long history. That would mean they would have to re-apply to become members of the Scottish Football League and having to return to the third division and build the club back up from virtually scratch.
