Maybe its me..

My poor small clean van in the West Country only seems fit for "multi drop service" and then told "oh its a bit small ect.." Is the industry all Multi drop?

And how can some only pay 50p a drop?

( please note I do not offer my service for 50p a drop ) I subcontract sometimes on a healthy hourly rate.

Even the long established courier company is leaning towards "multi drop".

Oh well of I go to order a cd from Amazon and wait for it to be shipped in a 2ft box.

I do the occasional multidrop, but charge an hourly rate, I got fed up charging a day rate, only for them to expect a 14 hours day, yeah right, now I charge £20 per hour, the clock's ticking from the moment I get to the depot, if they piss me about, I don't care, I'm still charging.

Day rate is for a strict "up to" 10 hours - ring them at 9 hours and ask if they want you to come back and de-brief within the 10 hours or carry with the final drops pro-rata. Insist they answer by email or text.

50p per drop is what some Herpes deliverers accept - apparently it's a "lifestyle" choice, fits between the school runs etc.

Mines 12 hours. If i turn up at 6 am im finishing at 4 and thats 4 back at the depot. This alone stops the crap of turning up at 6 as requested but not given the run until gone 8 to be near 10 by the time your locked and loaded. I have had my fill of 9pm finishes at depot with an hours drive home and up at 4.30 the next day. They get upto 12 iffff its desperate . Sad to say i did this on xmas eve for citylink grrrrrrrr
