The last few weeks there have been text alerts for jobs less than 15 miles A to B. Some unbelievably have been for as little as 3 miles and one job was posted of just 1 mile!

Is this really work that a courier is looking for or is there a demand for a sister website called MTtAXI?

Dont knock it if its from the expert, the 1 mile job maybe worth £4.75 and the 3 mile job could be worth a whopping £6.25.. shame there not doubled, trebled or even quadrupled up to make it worth the while really..

And I get slagged off for taking £29 for a 4 mile job :-)

That figure Les is ok depending on which vehicle your using.. If its a bike/car/small van its all well and good, but if its something where you have to load and unload and takes time then that a bit different..

Most of us have a minimum charge, so these should be the most profitable of all...To be honest given the choice i'd do locals all day long (at the right price) However i suspect the jobs you're on about are from one particular vendor, where the prices are fixed. If there are enough in one area to keep you going then all well and good

I know where I can lay my hands on an old trade bike, could I do locals in that? (would charge trade prices!)

I would just like to clarify there are no fixed prices for any job we put on mtvan, however short the journey. My advice would be to put in the best price you can do and it will be considered.

Im sure ive read somewhere £4 per job plus .75p pplm if thats not fixed then I dont know what is.. oh yes I see,

I can see some similarity to uShip here.. the winner is the lowest bidder.. That why its not fixed.. Gotcha ;-)

My point is I dont care if it was a 2 mile job from Argos to the next street to where I live, I would not do multi drop from a major store for less than £35-£50 per Drop, I thought it was a joke when someone offered drops from a major store for £3 to £4.50 a drop and I nearly chocked on my beer. "The rate for a car/small van is £4 per collection, plus 75p per mile. (Sometimes you may get 2 at once, therefore get paid double)"

Which is it ? ?

Within a 45 minute drivetime zone from us there are the citys of Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, Wakefield and Sheffield and the towns of Rotherham, Barnsley, and Doncaster and also RDC's for B+Q, Next, Argos etc.

I will not be spending much of my time bidding on potential £10.00 jobs but will give you a price for a professionally completed job if so requested.
