Just out of curiosity, has anyone noted i-Courier that have appeared recently? Noted them first on twitter and then had a look at their website. Prices from £6, established a first class reputation, one of the most experienced courier companies in the uk?

Don't appear to be offering work yet but then vans that run on air maybe hard to find. They do suggest to be a sizeable concern though.

Scratch that, they were looking for a van on twitter yesterday.

Why do you get the impression that they're at all large?

Their website looks like it was thrown together quickly by someone just starting out in web stuff.

I see nothing wrong with this lot other than the impossible to complete £6 job... although i did once deliver a sample from one dept of a major hospital to another just 500 metres away. The charge? £6! So it can be done using my example.

Where does it say they are looking for owner drivers? Wont they just bring in jobs and post them on mtvan or CX like others do? Then its up to owner driver to decide if they want the job or not.

Can you point me to where they say they're after couriers? I can't see it.

They have couriers nationwide... how? They aren't on any exchange site that I know of so how can they offer nationwide coverage?

By charging you a fee for joining their network for their work? (which doesn't yet exist cos they have no clients, chicken and egg innit)

Check out their address?

Admin - Got the impression they were sizeable from the wording of their page as Rob pointed out picking up on their claim of couriers nationwide. Although my guess was one bloke in a home office taking bookings then trying to find people to cover it.

I never said they were looking for OD's either or that I would consider chasing them for work.

I may be quite new to courier work but i still believe if something looks to good then it isn't otherwise everyone would be doing it.

As for paying large sums of money up front for the promise of work, see the courier hub thread, that's not gonna happen as anyone who knows us Scot's and our control of the purse strings will appreciate :)

Just a reminder, for anyone wanting to take on work from the Internet in all parts of the UK, we have made it easy:

Just go here http://www.mtvan.com/customer-booking-system and add the code to a page on your website. The work appears privately on your account on mtvan, and you can choose to open it for bids on mtvan if that helps to cover it.

i Couriers are a national based courier firm with contracts all over the UK and couriers recruited to service these contracts and yes our prices do start at £6.

I feel that I must stick up for i Couriers, I have done one job for them its was only 23 miles but they paid me well over the odds at £35, they are also on the courier gold site I believe.

Valid question and I suspect the answer is as simple as the .org was available and no further thought went into it. There are ways of asking and your previous post was taking the mick. In bold the forum guidelines say be nice.

Please watch the tone guys, you don't need to collectively rip another member to shreds over some questionable wording on their website. Be constructive and make suggestions. Help each other! :)

I don't think people are ripping i Couriers, I think people are just testing the water to see if they are a bona fide business.

It just seems that the pricing seems low and the nationwide prescence big and no one has any recollection or knowledge of them.

You have people talking on here about regulation and this maybe a broad take on just that.

Completely agree that it's right to question a business to see if they're bona fide.

Personally I would take claims of 'nationwide presence' from someone I have never heard of who also doesn't have a first rate web site with a pinch of salt. I know there are many owner drivers who claim 'national coverage', I don't believe it but I don't think they're necessarily crooks either.

Speed Couriers Nationwide Ltd

Sites like this and CX enable anyone to say they have nationwide coverage. Lets face it you don't even need any couriers of your own now. I suspect that's what i Couriers is all about.

And that ain't me slaggin em off, thats me sayin it's a possibility.

I agree Rob, and I'm sure that's what i Couriers is about too. And I think there's nothing wrong with working in such a way, as many others do.

I got an alert from courier gold to do a job from Huntingdon to Croydon, I agreed a silly price 50 pounds. Was told it was 77 miles ended up being 89 miles and a 47 mile journey to collect.

I emailed them after 30 days got a reply saying they added me to thier payment run and funds will be leaving their account tomorrow at the latest.

I'm still waiting 30 days after. Nobody is replying to emails or answering phones. I have asked courier gold to contact them on my behalf.

PW Courier Services

1302

They are not answering their phones or emails. I googled the address on their web site, it shows up as a dry cleaners. Rang this dry cleaners they gave me a number but the person who answered did not know the company i-Couriers. There are a few companies in this building, they also operator as direct driver services.

I did one job for them in November not been paid as yet.

Perhaps admin needs to look at the criteria for joining... Not sure how you stop this from happening, but if you can trust everyone that joins 100% then you have a good selling point over the competition and a happy band of mtvanners
