Does anybody now run a trailer on a van.

I have a tri axle that I have been hiring out to a couple of chaps rstoring an old building .We stopped towing in June due to the new law

Has anybody gone down the O license route . I was running trucks upto about twelve years ago but I have not bothered with contining towing a trailer for busiesss

The new laws came in 04/12/2011 but you can still tow for business behind a "Dual purpose" vehicle without an "O" licence as long as you have a Tachograph fitted.

If you are towing behind a van you need to have "O" licence inspection records for that van and the inspection records for the trailer and if you kept the trailer only for occasional use it simply is not worth doing - If you have an "O"

No Mr 021 for us recently it as you say is not worth the hassle we towed up until June this year because vosa had a six mount amansty

We had a taco on our old flatbed but when I replaced it last year we never bothered so we did tow a while with out a taco bad but not quite Jimmy Saville Bad !!

You played the systm well, the potential fines for towing without a tachoghraph being fitted were far, far less than any "O" licence penalties.
