In the Uk the trailer reg plates must be the same has the tractor unit, in Europe they never match, is there a different law, or do they just not bother about this?

145Euro trailers have their own individual registration number. It is taxed and MOT'd as a seperate vehicle. I don't know why we have not adopted these euro regs. It stops people towing dodgy trailers, but you don't know who is towing what. Six of one and half a dozen I suppose.

257Spanish & Italian trailers have their own reg plate & the reg plate of the truck towing it. Would seem to solve all the issues mentioned above
