Hi Guys,

Can someone advise me on the current rates companies would like when sub contracting, as i seem to be quoting and quoting for work on here but as yet have not had a single consignment, to be open i am looking at about £1 per loaded mile as a charge rate. it could be that most of the job offers on here are looking for back load rates??? thanks guys

Hi there,

The best advise i can give you is you charge what you need to, and as much as everyone nowadays wants everything delivered yesterday for next to nothing you cannot afford to run for nothing. Generally "backload" rates seem to be around the 50pplm Sara.

You dont say what size your vehicle is but if you need £1 per mile loaded then dont accept anything less.

Good luck

[name]

At the moment I have down sized to a small van after an RTA with the big one,
Because of Insurance Regs etc, And have also down sized my Rates. Now I ask for and get .70p PLM, any back load rates I ask for 55p.

Again it depends on the size of vehicle and operating costs, not just fuel but all the overheads. Don't do any work for less than you can run with or the Rock and Roll Beckons you.
