Since my accident in November my back injury has affected me in various ways. However 2 weeks ago the pain became so much that i have had to take time off and know not when i will be able to get back on the road . My doctor kindly gave me a "sick note" to give to my employers, however as i employ myself i have no idea what to do with this note. Unbelievably this is the 1st time ive been off for longer than 5 days in 30 years of self-employment.

Can anyone tell me the procedure? I guess i wont be receiving anywhere near the benefits others receive but does anyone know just how much?

In view of my situation and the influx of "newbies" on site, time off through illness might be something for the newly self-employed to consider seriously when factoring in their costs or taking the leap from regular employment.

I am not sure if there's anything on the benefit to manage the situation... Since there's the possibility of people exploiting the system. I will help myself by digging out for some info, not sure where.

Ive no idea AJM...

Big Jim aka Mr. G wont tell us where he got it from... And just refers us to an out of date video. I only shop at COSTCO when my youngest daughter has run out of money. Ive kept my eye out in there Gary but not seen them yet. Maybe I should ask next time im in COSTCO. But as soon as I see one Gary I'll let you know. Maybe there are others reading this who have a better idea

Technical stuff

They are battery operated but not 12v. You can recharge them from a USB source, which means if you have a laptop or simlar you could recharge them from it. However rather than drag my laptop with me it would be easier to buy from Maplins or simlar shop, A 12v plug thingy that fits into your accessory socket ( previously known as cigerette lighter socket) which will reduce the voltage and has a usb dangly bit to plug into your microwave oven. But seen as there are at least three different types of USB plug, Wait till you buy a microwave befor you buy you USB dangly bit.
