Is there a problem with the iPhone App?

I am not receiving notifications on my iPhone 4S, last one was Friday. I know that there has been job posted in my area, anyone with the same problem?

I have iPhone 4s and all ok my end if this helps.

My iPhone 4s app seems to be ok (apart from not enough work being posted) but have noticed recently that sometimes when I click on a job the app logs me out. Have three on display at the mo, two of I can get the details but it's the earliest posted one that shuts the app down. So maybe not OK.

Opens fine on my iPhone4 (even with a cracked front glass), and also fine on the website.

I'll check with Richard later and get back to you.

Just tried it again (thought it might be me, it's possible) opens up OK on the site but not again on my iPhone, as before logged me out.

I think you mean the app crashes, rather than specifically logs you out? Do you end up at the home screen?

Not sure what it is, but possibly something wring with syncing between the app and the site. I'm pretty confident that reinstalling the app will solve whatever is going on (as it'll reload the data). Your problem is unrelated to the 1st post.

Hmm it's hard to say. The app will only alert you once per job. Had app crashed when the job was posted (i.e. Did you see the login screen when you opened the app again)?

When you're in the app, no alert will popup. Think that's the norm for any app - no notification unless you're in the app.

You could try closing the app (properly with the red '-' button), then reopen the app and let it sign in. Now swipe from the top and see if there's anything from mtvan in notification centre.

Also, please tell me exactly which iOS version you're on (go to settings > general > about > version)?

It's showing [postcode] to [postcode] todays date time of 17:13, also some other jobs Spennymoor to Paris date Friday, High Wycombe to CW97, date Friday, [postcode] to M17 Friday, & EC3r to [postcode] Wednesday.

Ok, I have been fiddling about for the last 20 minutes trying to work out how I could test this for you.

Here's an idea that has just worked for me (i.e. All the notifications came in).

1. Go to the account section above, then alert settings and set your alert radius down to 0.
2. Sign out of the app (I didn't have to close it).
3. Sign in to the app straight away, the alert radius will be re-loaded and you should have no work 'nearby'.
4. Now press the home button, now the power button on your phone to put in standby.
5. Go back on mtvan and stick your alert radius up.
6. Wait 5 mins for your phone to sync the new setting and the alerts should popup (for anything within the radius).

Were those jobs listed in notification centre or just in the App?

(17:13, Friday etc etc indicate when the job was posted FYI)

40 mile radius.

Done all of that still the same. Going to uninstall the app then reinstall it see if that works.

That didnt work, going over to Manchester tomorrow see if it's ok then.

Please answer all of my questions accurately as I'm not entirely convinced there's anything going wrong yet. Specifically whether that was what was in the notification centre?

Good afternoon, you have not answered the question. Are the jobs appearing in the notification centre? I cannot help you if you don't provide me with this information.

They will still be listed if they're still open and new enough.

I think it's worth pointing out that if you get a notification for a job that is closed before you look at it, the notification is automatically removed.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye on it as I'm sure you will. I played around with the app a bit more I have been able to replicate what you've described some times and it seems to be something to do with network (WIFI or 3G, not sure) connectivity when the phone is locked.

Had a search around and it's reported that this has been a bug in iOS 6 for some devices, and what the small updates since 6 was released have been meant to fix. However many people are complaining of similar connectivity problems even after the updates (6.0.1 and 6.0.2).

We have found some subtle differences in how iOS 6 location services behave which we think may have been causing problems. We have submitted a minor update to Apple to resolve things. Should be available soon.

Version 1.0.1 of the mtvan courier app is available now in the app store and should address all issues raised here. Be sure to update, especially if you're on iOS 6.
