iPhone App

Down in GU10 yesterday gets a notification about a job in the area going to Hull on my iPhone tried to ask a question about the load but there isn't anywhere where you can do this, no phone number to ring, just the name of the poster, what type of vehicle, map & a page for you to quote,

Could there be a section to ask a question for more details of the load, or have the posters phone number put on so that we can ask questions of load,

Making communication from the app possible is something we're interested in doing.

And if possible to allocate a job can this be done?

I have 9 old jobs showing they wont disappear the oldest is from the 5/6/13 reading to banbury posted by rush couriers, How can i clean them?

I noticed your post (I think it was yours) the other day. I will check out Gocanvas now.

Could you provide some more info about what you think we might consider using it for? Things like pod's etc we would integrate into our App, but that doesn't mean there's no good ideas from Gocanvas that we could investigate.

Ive written and tried a POD electronic app created with gocanvas on phone and iPad it worked a treat, emailed customer, sent copy to me etc... It looks very interesting thousands of pre made forms that can be edited to your requirements. Worth a look.

So is it specifically the POD use that you like about it? Along with the automatic email to the customer and vendor?

Initially yes, but I can see a lot more forms being of use, just not had the time to look into yet. We are not of the size yet to justify providing drivers with PDA's with all the info they can provide, allocating jobs, POB' POD's etc etc linked into a back office software/accounts system... I still think there is a gap in the market for a fully integrated courier software/accounts package to stop the triple entry we currently use, especially for Macs now more and more iPhones/iPads on the market fully equipped to do far more than the current PDA's!

Oh no I have finally weakened and got an iphone. Lets hope I know how to operate it properly.

It would be nice to have perhaps an audit trail for each job allocated, a bit like these forum pages only between vendor and driver for an allocated job. That way queries, quotes, GOBs and PODs would all be recorded and could be recalled and presumably printed off? It would mean inputting each piece of info manually but would remove the need for specialist software. I was thinking somewhere along the lines of the Facebook messaging facility?

Also, I am still getting alerts for old jobs on the iphone app as I'm travelling the country. Is there any way this can be changed?
