Do you guys do European work? If so Does your ppm change and would you put a % on top of the ferry crossing price? Been asked from a potential customer to quote but not sure what the general "rules" are. Thanking you all in advance. [name].

No rules, it's your business so surely you charge what you need to cover ALL costs, albeit, road Tolls, sea crossings, hotels etc? Just make sure you know what you are doing, as in legal requirements, paperwork, customs clearance if needed and local laws, eg correct tyres, spare bulbs etc.
It can be disastrous if caught not adhering to the law. Ignorance is no defence!

I do some I just quote a price, which includes Ferry or Train, Toll roads, fuel, hotel if I'm going to stop out, plus I add about £30 on top because there is always some unplanned expense, also work out all your costs when you have come up with your final price and make sure your happy with your profit if not increase your price, all that said your price you give to your customer might be too expensive, so be prepared for rejection but everyone on here only works for a profit.

Just had a thought make sure the person who you are doing the work for has the means to pay doing European work isn't cheap good luck.

You struggle to get paid off people when you have done the job, nevermind before.

All due respect [name] - that is down to the individual as to who and what they work for.

We pretty much pay within 7 days of receipt hard copy / email - now that doesn't mean we pay poor rates neither.

It's more of a case of finding the good companies to work for, there are plenty out there who just do not get spoken about.

:-)
