Courier Tracking - Android

I can see that some members have at least attempted to sign in on the app, but I have no tracking data from anyone yet.

Any feedback? Where did it go wrong for you and what phone and Android version are you on so I can try and iron out any problems?

I've now seen a app status update come in from RGM (although you sent no message), so you must have signed in to the app ok I guess.

Nobody toggling the tracking switch?

Hi, I didn't realise I had to send a message. The app status shows me as empty. Does this apply wherever I am in the country? What's the toggling switch? I don't appear to have one! I think we need some instructions on how to use it, as I only have one page showing my status, and nothing else.

You don't have to send a message, it's optional.

If it was working correctly it would be self-explanatory, it's very simple. I'm guessing that the tracking switch is missing for you for some reason.

I developed this on a Samsung Galaxy S4 on which it runs with no problems. I need to replicate the problems you're having in order to fix them really, which phone is it you have? I may have to just buy another phone for testing purposes.

I was hopeful because this is a simple app, however sadly this is always the way with app development!

I see the Samsung Galaxy S5 officially supports Android 6 so I may order one of them.

I may make a video showing how to use the app at some point, then it would be clear for you if something isn't right.

Not certain yet. I think your phone will be Android v7.

I have ordered an Android v6 phone for testing now and will try to resolve whatever issues there are with it next week when it comes. This may also resolve your issues, if not I will then buy an Android v7 phone to get to the bottom of it.

In case you're still looking for it, there's a button marked "Map" on the right at the top.

Good to see people tracking on the map. Just seen Mike Needham tracking with Android.

I have my Samsung Galaxy S5/Android V6 and have found and fixed the bug relating to tracking. I had no problem signing in with this phone and using the status, it was just the tracking.

I've found a couple of extra little things that could do with ironing out, but I'll try to get the Android V6 fixed release out this week.

I suspect I'm going to have to order a Galaxy S6/Android V7 to get to the bottom of issues affecting others.

I have an HTC One M8, any idea if that's compatible?

I have uploaded a new version (1.0.1) that should fix support for everyone on Android V6, that's quite a lot of people on here.

Working nicely on my Samsung Galaxy S5 (Android V6).

If you have already followed Tim's link you can find the app in the Play Store by searching for 'mtvan' (this may work even if you haven't followed Tim's link!).

Your phone will be V7 I think, please give the new version a go but it's likely that it'll be my next version that fixes it for you.

I've just uninstalled it and reinstalled it. I've managed to log in now. Thanks Tim

The mtvan iOS app is being worked on to be compatible with the latest upgrade from Apple.

Any day now!

A quick update:

The android app for courier tracking (and status update on mtvan) has been upgraded.

Available now free and without restriction on Google Play.

Feedback welcome.

The Android courier tracking for Android has been updated for Android V7.

It allows tracking and update of status (eg empty or partly empty).

The tracking happens on this map. Just click on the MAP button on the right.

It also lets the system know to alert you to nearby work.
