We booked in a job on friday LWB only 80 miles.

Subby tasked and dispatched.

20 mins later i got call from subby saying "I have just got another job 165 miles so i am doing that one now and can't do yours im sorry.

This was a fairly new subby (3 months) but an experienced courier.

I was by this time out of drivers and subby's and had to call the customer, All i could do was tell the truth and apologise.

When i call a subby i always offer the job and don't forcefully ask them to do it and give them the option.

How annoying

I'd have said that was a bit more than just annoying. To my mind that's unacceptably unprofessional and I do hope you won't consider using them again unless your absolutely desperate.

I've lost count of the number of times I've had to turn down jobs worth, perhaps, £200 or more because I'm already booked for a poxy minimum charge local job but I've always considered that if you accept a job then you're committed to see it through.

Thats Bang out of order , If you accept a job you have to honour it, very unprofessional,

He may have made a few pounds more this time but next week he will be on the phone asking you if you have anything , silly silly silly :)

I know it's unprofessional and obviously is now classed by me as unreliable.

I also called another driver a few weeks ago at around 2pm on a friday with a crappy birmingham and the driver said "I'm not getting stuck in traffic for a poxy brum job for nobody"

Well the driver who did it then got a full paying return load back to EMA for another customer and then another full job from EMA to mansfield , then  Alfreton to  Newcastle upon tyne, and a £20 tip when he got there.
They rarely happen like that but you never know do you.Right place at the right time.

But still it started out as a crappy birmingham job!

lol Birmingham can be a swine , but if you want to earn money you have to take the good with the bad, and you never know what it may lead too :)

Birmingham is a great place to drive when you know all the short cuts wink like the back of my hands.

I have experienced this "Let Down"  (forum post) myself. I think as well as having a green "trusted" button we should have a big red "untrusted" button. Perhaps some subbies would then think twice about ruining the reputation of our businesses.

If you allocate your job to them on mtvan you can then leave feedback, good, neutral, or bad.

We have alleviated the problem in the short term by buying another LWB Transit and getting rid of one of the spare small vans.
