Got a job of this site should of known better i suppose. Was asked to collect day at 1800. Made my way to collection point whilst waiting for email confirmation pulled over 2 hours later no email and not responding to communication. What a waste of time and fuel. They must have given it someone else. Common decency they could of told me.
Why do i bother!

2821A verbal communication should be enough to set off sadly many people these days are not people of their word
White Express
261Unfortunately as there was no confirmation/job allocation through mtvan I take it there is no way to leave negative feedback for others to see. I agree a verbal confirmation should be enough.

10314Do a dummy job from wherever to wherever, not open for bids, allocate it off to em, and hey presto, the ability to leave feedback, negative or otherwise

Please do not do this, apart from anything else you'll be listed as the vendor.
Although you were not allocated the job, was it posted on mtvan? If so we can possibly allocate it to you.
Mitchell Haulage
902Yes it was allocated on mtvan.

Was the job posted on mtvan (i.e. alerts sent) but not allocated to you?

5507I would be interested to know who it was.

1737So would I Darren. Most courier jobs are taken by me are by word if mouth. In this job it's similar to a handshake where trust on both sides is paramount. IWB. People have said on here that you should get written confirmation etc befire starting off but when you're on the road it's not always possible. We need to be 100% confident that the 'vendor' will honour his word when a job is given verbally. So this guy needs to be named and/or given the opportunity to explain.

2250I agree a verbal agreement is sufficient between couriers, but end customers best to wait for some form of written confirmation.

Well said, in ten years I have reciecved writen confirmation about a dozen times, if you can't trust each other it's a bad state of affairs, Courier work is built on trust.
Martin Logistics
1018I've not done a job from here yet but presumably you get some sort of text and/or email when a job is assigned to you? I wouldn't turn a wheel without getting one of those unless I knew I could trust the vendor.
Thorpe & Sons
5507I always check the vendors feedback first. I done a job for someone on here the other day that i've never worked for before from this site. Communication was great and paid decent rates. some Vendors should take note on these good vendors who want there work done. I don't have time for timewasters. They should be named and shamed then banned. Just my opinion!

1237I do the same, make sure I check before I quote, But not always easy when driving, 99.9 per cent of people are great, but its the bad apple!

I do agree fats should be made available for others to see, with the accused given their opportunity to add their take on it. Facts are facts. However, I do believe most of these situations would be settled privately, to avoid it going public :-)

10314Facts are indeed facts, but there are always a few ways to view them, a bit like statistics, they can be made to say 2 completely opposite things and both be correct!

About 90% of my account jobs are booked by call, the other 10% do have an email booking but this has more to do with the customers procedures, all non account customer confirm by using their card ;-)
