Don't know if you all realise but the forum is open to anyone to read. IE people who have been kicked off the site have open access to read anything posted?

5839What have you got to hide?<div><br></div><div>If it's that sensitive I suggest you don't post it on a site with over 1600 active logins whether only members can read it or not.</div>
Long Services
10314my gripe is that this is a forum for couriers...or supposedly so, and it seems anyone out there can get access to what is being written, on what should be a members only forum surely?<div><br><div><br></div></div>
Long Services
10314for example...google [business] and hey ho at no.6 is me on mtvan...nothing wrong with that as all exposure is good.....BUT what i write in the forums is for all to see...should it not be purely my company details, not my opinions on this and that?...that surely is wrong
Clarke Services
1302I agree with [name] at [business], anyone that are not members should only be allowed to ready company, detail's not we put on the forum<br>

1126I agree also we have banta between our<div>Selfs about this an that </div><div>But what if a company is does a google search for example for speedy and what they find is rightly put nob of the year award for carry on couriers </div><div>Not exactly what you want potential clients to see </div>

25600I agree, what is discussed in the forum by members is for members eyes only.<div>Things can easily be misconstrued if you are not fully aware of the facts.</div><div><br></div><div>For example my thread "is there anybody out there" was brought up out of context in "giving up".</div><div><br></div><div>Anyone reading that thread could ,completely, get the wrong impression of my company!</div>

533<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 10pt;" class="MsoNormal">I also agree, our view is for couriers members only and this is one change's that's needs to be sorted. I feel a little let down admin.</p>

5839Just to finish this thread up...<div><br></div><div>There are no security problems associated with our forum, the title is misleading. The OP was actually concerned about who can read the forum which has nothing whatsoever to do with security.</div><div><br></div><div>As with the majority of forums on the internet, the mtvan forum is free for all to read and only members to post. It is the norm, even for 'trade' websites to have forums that are viewable to non members. If you think other forums you post on are private I suggest you double check, and then check again as if you're 'googlebot'. If you're unable to do that then beware.</div><div><br></div><div>If you think what you post can be misconstrued then make sure your posts are detailed enough to give someone reading them the correct context.</div><div><br></div><div>If the forum being public makes courier companies think twice about their tone before posting then we actually think that is a good thing. We all like some banter, but it's important to have a dose of professionalism at the same time.</div><div><br></div><div>Topic Closed.</div>
