once again post a job no calls seriously this site needs to sort it self out other wise i can see vendors leaving & that'll be the end of this site, i'm sure your subscription revenue is based on a balance of both vendors and couriers

5839Not arguing with your point about the lack of bids, but you don't have to pay anything to post work.<br>
Long Services
10314But the question is why are we getting no bids<div>Hate to use a comparison, but on cx its rare not to get 4-6 calls within an hour</div>
Murray Transport
778[name] I whole heartily agree with you there, cx you can no payment performance but still genrate calls of intrest in the job
Clarke Services
1302[name], do you think that it will pay you in the long run been on CX as they rather expensive. I was on their site but left. [name] - I feel this site needs more advertising for vendors so that we attract more work.

778[name] i've been on the cx for a few months now joined up just before the so called Christmas rush back in early November last year, im happy with it to be honest the key is to set realistic expectations...

10314CX has many issues, but it does what it says.<div>I rarely have any trouble covering anything and if I do get the odd one it doesn't tend to hang around too long.</div><div>Perhaps the issue is not the site per se, but the mix of users on it.</div>
Hewitt Logistics
3179As i have said on another thread.<br><br>There are members listed on here who signed up 2 years ago, Have no details about them selves or their business, have never made a bid or covered a job and only come on to read (or not) the forums.<br><br>In a city the size of London there are only around 50 active users on a site that claims 1500 plus members in the Capital!!<br><br>Until this changes the site will always struggle.<br><br>
Long Services
10314Absolutely<div>No point wotsoever in bigging yourself up if members can't trust the info in front of them.</div><div>Its a bit like social networking, useful if what's on there is up to date and relevant</div>

2250I am real I have not faded away.

3179Yes Business Buddy<br>You signed up a few days ago,<br><br>There are members on here who signed up 2 years ago and have never contributed a thing.<br><br>There is an awful lot of dead wood.<br><br>

2250Yep am new but been around the block and look forward to a long relationship. Business plan is taking shape so I can go either own way or subbie.
I wonder what percentage of OD's have paid to be a member and so are able to quote on work?<br><br>I joined for free and can read the forums, but can't quote on jobs.<br><br>I believe this is why you don't get bids.<br><br>
<P>I started this thread on 25/10/11</P> <P><U>Booking Work - Lack of Bids</U></P> <P>"I have posted many jobs on this site, never once have I had a bid, this is despite looking at the directory and seeing couriers in the area.</P> <P>Has anyone else had this problem? I am assuming the couriers are not pro members..."</P> <P>7 months latter nothing has changed.</P> <P>An increase to the number of active users/potential bidders could change things.</P>

43407<p>Heres a 1st and last from me I dont do forums. If you have time to post then you have too much time on your hands. <br></p>

10314Birmingham clearly has more active members then cos it certainly don't work down here or anywhere else i've posted.....
<P>Thank you B S C. Before Mtvan went boing I used to post jobs and get responses.</P> <P>Since it's rebirth, it has been quiet. I'm sure its going to get better.</P>
Murray Transport
778i suppose it's down to it's rebirth then that drivers don't want to call for job's posted on here, me personally was having regular calls on the old site its just there hasn't been any recent activity on my end on here

5It may appear plenty of "Couriers" are joining but take 1 person who has registered today - He is a newsagent & off licence trader - hardly a courier.

2185Interesting thread...<br><br>There are lots of members with Pro membership, so able to bid, but possibly not enough in their areas.<br><br>Maybe also the difficulty is having a Pro member who can cover the job quickly enough.<br><br>I wonder if there's any mileage in Admin sending an email to all local Pro members when a new job is posted.<br><br>
Murray Transport
778thank you [name], well that's a start & hopefully that'll get the site working better to how it should be working.<br>
<p>Hi there</p><p>Hoping that admin. might respond to two requests, first made on 21/05.</p><p> </p><p>Kind regards</p>
mtvan.com Ltd
2185Hi [name]<div><br></div><div>Which requests?</div><div><br></div><div>I thought I had covered your points with my answer here and on the thread about booking work?</div>
Harding Direct
2148I must say there must be flaw in the plan somewhere as I rarely see a job even remotely near me!!<br>I think the helpful advice bit does work though
Long Services
10314well I have to say cx is beginning to get fustrating too recently.<div>I don't know if its cos everyone's busier, or me, but i'm getting less bids and having to work harder to get the jobs covered at a decent price than I used to.</div>
Long Services
10314I can only grow my business with the help of exchange sites. Without them its much more difficult to grow. I had a 50% increase in turnover last year and I put a lot of that down to the exchange sites.

207as soon as i get a decent van sorted ill be posting quotes all the time.. i cant see why anyone else isnt if anyone has a job they cant do in the yorkshire/midlands area give us a shout
<p>Hi [name]</p><p>How are things?</p><p>"Finally a question for website admin. Do members experiences of booking work and getting bids get fed back and does it affect the development of the site?"</p><p> </p><p>Kind regards</p>

2185Hi [name]<br><br>It's hard to answer your question, as some time ago we put phone numbers on the alerts, so we don't see all the outcomes directly. I know that when we put phone numbers on the alerts, call volumes went up significantly.<br><br>[name]
Watson Express
1737[name] can i suggest you just text alerts to Pro members? If free members cant quote whats the point in texting them? I'd imagine many pro members end up ignoring them for this reason.
mtvan.com Ltd
2185Hi [name]<br><br>An interesting idea.<br><br>As a point of fact, although the free members get the email alerts, they don't see them in their dashboard, because jobs don't appear there unless you have Pro membership. So the only way they can bid is to call the number.<br><br>Your suggestion of text-only to Pro members has some merit, but there would be a cost implication to this. Also what if a free member is the best person for the job?<br><br>[name]
Watson Express
1737Hi [name]. Thanks for the reply. Do you mean alerting, for example, 29 Pro members and 500 non-pro members? I've just posted a job in the Cambridge area and had zero bids.
mtvan.com Ltd
2185I guess so.<div><br></div><div>My point is, as a Pro member, you can basically ignore many of the alerts, as they are too far away. Whereas if you were only alerting Pro members, at least you would know everyone who received the alert could place a bid.</div>
Long Services
10314CX have completely rewritten their software and it will go live in September.<div><br></div>

2250Was there an answer to the app suitable for ANDROID?????.
mtvan.com Ltd
2185It's a huge investment to produce one of these apps, let alone two.<br><br>At the moment, the answer is definite no to Android. iPhone is on the priority list though.<br><br>[name]
<P>Hi [name],</P> <P>Just posted a job and got a bid, so things are looking up.</P> <P>Kind regards</P> <P>[name]</P>

3179I was again looking to cover a job and when i looked at couriers closest to the collection i had to discount 5 registered members who have not been in for ages, 2 with no details about themselves, 1 who is a taxi company and 1 who is a sandwich company.<br>
