Another Scam

Got to warn you guys about a company in the westcliffe on sea/southend on sea area who claims to offer emegency courier services or any other emergency services, nationwide.

They are basically a call centre, with good google exposure, that quote customers for emergency or express services, who pay by credit card. They then contact a tradesman in the area and sub the job to them. As a subbie you will not get paid, when pressure is bought to bear by creditors they will then dessolve and reappear, months later, under a slightly different name.

We seem to have one in Cullumpton as well!! Offering work omn Mtvan and not paying!!! Apparently he's done it to a few guys.... WHY is he still on Mtvan, seems he got thrown off CX.

I have sent a detailed account of the my complaint to the 'admin dept' about Mr xxx will be interesting to see what happens!

It would be useful if 1 or more others could also email in their full account of what has happened to them. Maybe Chris could? Your email looks pretty conclusive to me though Dave, and years ago I recall something similar with the company concerned however at that time things got resolved (eventually) with the couriers, so I don't doubt you at all.

Thanks for looking into this as it's bad enough when one gets of us get caught out but to see this happening time after time is just plain silly!
I'm not in the habit of mud slinging but there are exceptions!

The company that I refer to is not a member of mtvan, as far as I am aware, but members could be contacted by the Ltd company offering express services in their area. I am not going to name them but the clues are there. Last year, trading as another Ltd. company offering emergency services, that is now dissolved, they paid for the first job by credit card and asked to open an account. They then ran up a bill of thousands of pounds in a couple of months. Good business, I thought, til they dissolved the company. Now here they are again, same directors, same registered address, same 0845 phone number, sightly different name.

We have got a company just like that in the south around the Portsmouth/Southampton area but with slight difference. They employ you as their owner driver first and you start doing jobs for them, they start paying you by the third week but by then when you  found out how much you get pay...its all too late!!! For example: MWB job from Southampton to Leeds = £120...Portsmouth to Wimbledon = £ 30, Southampton to Birmingham = £50 etc!! Then when you found out what they pay you won't even cover your cost, they will tell you to leave and they won't pay you what they owned you. They were based in West Sussex area before and just changed name and moved to the new area recently. I have just found out that they do own peoples money from the previous company as well, so watch out!!!
