Hi all, in these trying times its seems there is not much requirement for SWB (short wheel base) jobs out there, its either small or large (LWB) .Is it just me? We are considering purchasing SWB but unsure the work is out there. Any views...Regards

Hi there,

I am not sure about the work out there.

What I can do is give you a general percentage breakdown of our work.

s/van - 60%

swb - 10%

transits+ 30%

Two of my swb subbies also do s/van work, at s/van rates. One will not.

Kind regards

[name]

To cover all eventualities i'd go for the lwb...then you can do anythin a small van can't without askin the question.
I think a lot of it stems from the fact that both customers AND controllers don't always know the size of the load...so its just easier if it ain't a small van, to put an LWB...as prices don't differ much from swb to lwb.

Hope that helps
