Had a call from a customer yesterday can i collect from Southampton and deliver to one of his engineers in London.

Yes no problem. A quick call to an owner driver (not a member on here) and he is on his way. for those who dont know london post codes a typical one will look like this SW1R 1TH. A couple of hours later he calls I cant find the road this is C...P call your customer and get it sorted ok I says give me a minute as I apologise to the driver. I check on my TOM TOM and the road comes up no problem so I call him back, where are you to which he replies Clapham, well you wont find it there you need to be in Victoria, he had put the postcode in and not put the letter R in so he headed off to Clapham which is a SW11 postcode. Then he says so do I have to drive in to Bloody London. No I said leave it on Clapham Common and I will call the customer so the engineer can drive out and collect it.

Priceless !!!!!!!

B4 anyone starts having a go I thought it worth pointing out that Controllers have a responsibilty to get all relevant info of a job too....like full postcode and checking it's right, phone number and contact names for both pick up and delivery and ref numbers if applicable.

The more info we have, the easier eveything becomes.

I've had controllers not knowing where goods are going...at all...their own customers postcode....even wot size vehicle is needed

Common Sense

"Any act or statement that makes a lot of sense and finds acceptance to a lot of persons is common sense. Unfortunately, it is not that common as it is supposed to be."
