Why do they all have to be closed at the same time that I want to use them?!

Last night I had a drop in Birmingham near Northfield so the natural route home was A38/A38(M) M6 M1 home. But A38(M) was closed so I ended up on the ring road, okay I'll pick up the A45 and then M42 M6 etc.

Nope, M42 bloody closed! Okay so I'll carry on along A45 and pick up M45 then M1 home. Easy!

Nope! M45 bloody closed!

I did get home eventually but can anyone explain another thing - why when they are working on the M1 southbound between J12 and J11 do they cone it all off to one lane all the way back to J10, a good two miles more than needed? There's no-one there! There must be a reason why apart from to p@ss us all off?

I think you have it when you say to p*** us all off, PLUS the beaurocratic joke that is the Health and Safety Executive. That organisation alone is responsible for why it nigh on impossible to do anything at all, without beaking some rule or other. We'd still be in caves if they'd have been around then

They stop progress

The example below is NOT made up

A mate of mine does some freelance work for the BBC, in the props dept, and he's been doing it for years. Last year he had to go on a course on how to use a ladder, but due to Health & Safety they weren't allowed to use a ladder.

I kid you not, you really couldn't make it up

Mind you if you're a cone maker you're quids in, they're everywhere
