Hello My name is [name] and just thought I would say hi to you all. I am not a newbie, just new to mtvan. There is more about me in my profile and will scan and upload all my insurance docs asap. One question though, am I correct in saying that people on here would prefer a call of offer for posted work or to quote through the site? The reason I ask that is because I have spent much time reading posts on here and that was the impression I got. Anyway glad to be here, All the best [name]

Hi [name]. Welcome! My own experience is that I've quoted loads of times on line and have hardly ever got a job. I either phone or text and do get some good jobs. I think it's because jobs need to be covered quickly. Good luck.

I would suggest a text or call unless it states otherwise on the actual booking. Although useful to be able to quote online, i reckon because most of us are glued to the phones, that's the best place to start.

Some very busy offices don't want calls but i'm sure they'd say as much on the booking

I quote online aswell as text or call, but i thinks its been pretty quiet these days. I've not even heard from my regulars this week and they say its been quiet. It just must be one of those weeks.

Not at all, you can have the busiest week of the year for 52 weeks of the year if each week is better than the one before it... lol

Thanks for the advice and welcome guys & girls, Yes I find that if a company does not want calls then they will state texts only. Quoting online seems to be a bit clinical, though I know you (hopefully) busy courier companies have not always got the time to chat on the phone. I would like to believe that sometimes a company may get an idea of what you are about by talking with you. Saying that Im sure many just want the quote and then give it to the cheapest but I would like to think that the old saying Its good to talk may be true.
