A few months back Anyvan changed how their site works so that you bid the price you want to get paid, rather than the price the customer pays and it no longer shows you what their fee is that the customer pays as a deposit.

Now thier fee structure is not shown anywhere on their site, even in the terms and conditions it just says there is a £10 "admin fee" plus an unspecified amount.

I compared this with Shiply just out of interest and although you have to look in the small print for it their fees have a clear structure of a percentage of the job price with a £6 minimum.

As well as being clear to see, the Shiply fee structure seems far more reasonable. My business is firmly in the "man with van" category and I've mainly been focusing on local jobs, so for many of the jobs I do £10 is a noticeable addition.

I'm sure it takes a lot of investment to get sites like that off the ground, but once they break even it just seems like money for nothing.
