Hi all.

I was here some time ago when I considered going self employed, since then I have started working as a Courier for the NHS. Today I was on a post run and I made a drop a stores/post room in a large hospital.

I've been there several times and have parked in the same place before but today I had my photo taken by some jobsworth!

I parked in front of two loading bays but not blocking access, as I parked the van a milk float type vehilce parked up at the bay, the driver saw me unload the van and I walked past him but he never said a word.

I was less than two minutes and when I got in the van again, I looked up to see the bloke take a photo of me on his phone. I got back out and when to find him and asked if he had taken a photo of me?

His responce was "Yeah of the van I did" I asked him why "I don't want it there"

I explained I was making a drop which he had seen me do and it wasn't causing an obstruction, if there was a problem why not was me to move? His reply was speak to my boss. At this point his boss appeared and agreed with him and told me to park on double yellow lines in future.

What a pair! Rant over

It could be worse

Don't worry about it. There is nothing they can do. You were delivering and have the documentation to prove it.

Unless you are parked in an area which is specifically signposted as no parking at any time you have the right to park up for the length of time that it takes you to deliver your goods, obtain a signature and return to your vehicle.
